Welcome to our exciting and technology-intensive world.

Your Role

Do you want to design the circuit boards of the future for advanced defense systems?

At Saab Dynamics in Karlskoga, we are now looking for a PCB designer with a strong system understanding and experience in product-related development.

You will work with world-class technology, where reliability, innovation, and precision are the focus - and where your solutions make a difference.

As an innovative circuit board designer in the Ground Combat business unit, you will be a key player in the development of advanced defense systems, sensor systems, and electronic modules with high security and performance requirements.

We would love for you to become part of our team and our creative work environment where competence and idea development are the keys to our success.

You will work in our layout team with complex physical layouts, both rigid and flex/rigid-flex, and develop solutions that can withstand extreme environments - both thermally and mechanically. The work is done in close collaboration with mechanical, electronic, software, and production teams, in an environment where documentation and traceability are an integral part of everyday life.

In this position, we also see a concept-monitoring role for our future designs as well as a coordinating role towards our own electronics development and our development partners.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design of advanced PCB solutions for the Ground Combat product range
  • Integration - Understanding mechanical interfaces and assembly challenges
  • Work towards DFM/DFT and ensure that designs are manufacturing and test-friendly
  • Layout of complex rigid-flex in tight and protected spaces
  • Concept monitoring - contribute to technical choices and drive PCB strategy within the company
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and suppliers in qualification and industrialization work

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a bachelor's or master's degree in electronics and at least 5 years of experience in PCB design in production-related environments.

You have:

  • Good experience with Siemens EDA, Altium, or similar tools
  • Experience designing robust, manufacturing-friendly boards
  • Understanding of electronics in systems with high environmental and reliability requirements
  • Experience collaborating with mechanical, software, and production teams
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.

Please note that we are working with ongoing selection, and the position may be filled before the application deadline has expired.
